Carbon Valley Library: Get Active In Discovering Insects and Invertebrates
August 22nd: 4:30pm-5:30pm Join Dandelion Arts Collective for a free creative movement and theatre class for children and families. Through kinesthetic learning, music, stories, and artistic exploration, children and their families will explore the cyclical and never-ending relationship of growth and decomposition in vegetation and produce through the work of insects and invertebrates. Kids will explore the movement and work of these invertebrates to connect the essential and ACTIVE role they play in the growth of our food, plants, and wildlife. Free with no registration required. Looking for holistic, shame-free, developmentally appropriate sexual health education for your youth? Join facilitators, Kristel Jelinek Brown and Mimi Ferrie, for an afternoon session of holistic sexual health education for 4th-6th graders. Inspired by the Our Whole Lives (O.W.L.) health and sexuality curriculum, participants will "gain the knowledge, life principles, and skills they need to understand and express their sexuality in holistic, life-enhancing ways." (OWL, 2023). This specific workshop will utilize performing arts modalities, including creative movement and theater improvisation, to enhance and support learning through kinesthetic learning and creative practices. *Offered in partnership with Boulder Valley Unitarian Universalist.
